Travelling by road

One main road, the A16, approaches Grimsby from the South, and two from the West, the A180 and the A46. (If approaching from the East, please consult Admiralty chart 109)

The A46 arrives at a large double roundabout Nuns Corner, and from this point keep left to follow Bargate towards Grimsby town centre. For St James Church, the venue for some concerts, keep straight on for another 0.2 mile, over a railway bridge, and the church is in front of you. Parking can be found by keeping left.
For the Central Hall from Nuns Corner keep on the A46 towards Cleethorpes. Turn left on the A16 at traffic lights. Then follow the directions below for the A16.
From the new A16 approach (Peaks Parkway on the map), for Central Hall, turn right at a first set of traffic lights after passing under a railway bridge. Pass under another bridge, then left at the second set of lights into Freeman Street and keep straight on (several sets of lights) for about a quarter mile to take the fourth turn right into Duncombe Street. The Central Hall is just on the left, with parking a little further on, also on the left. There is a security guard for the car park on concert evenings and for scheduled rehearsals.
From the A180 for St James Church, turn right at the second roundabout on approaching the town, along Pyewipe Road, then left at the next roundabout, Market Hotel, and follow Cromwell Road to the second set of lights. Here turn left over a railway bridge for St James Church.
From the A180 for the Central Hall, keep straight on past several roundabouts until
you come to traffic lights. Keep straight on, then turn right immediately beyond
a petrol station on the right. This is Albion Street. After about 0.25 mile turn
right into Garibaldi Street, and then left at Freeman Street (a main shopping street)
and left again into Duncombe Street. The Hall and car park are shortly on your left.
Duncombe Street is a one-
Travelling by rail
For all the venues mentioned under "Travelling by Road", the most convenient railway station is Grimsby Town (rail booking code GMB; served from Doncaster and Scunthorpe, or less frequently, from Lincoln or Barton). St James Church is then within easy walking distance (100m.). The Central Hall probably needs a bus (3F, 8X or 9X, ask for Freeman Street Market) or a taxi.
